Peppermill Cottage is just two minutes walk from the shore, in the heart of the quaint fishing village of Whitehills near Banff and just a few miles from Portsoy and Cullen.

It's perfect for experiencing the stunning scenery and picturesque villages of the Moray coast or exploring the wealth of fine whisky distilleries on offer and you'll be refreshed and relaxed by the peaceful, calm way of life and the warm and friendly local people.
Walk to the shore in a few minutes and begin to explore the lovely coastline.


An early 1900's terraced cottage Peppermill has a bright modern interior with an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area looking onto the garden.
The spacious dual aspect open plan kitchen/ livingroom with 40" smart tv is fully equipped for self catering with gas hob, electric oven, fridgefreezer, slow cooker and microwave.

Peppermill has everything you need for home cooking but with an easy walk to the highly recommended fish and chip shop. The excellent Seafield Inn right on the doorstep is a must for great pub meals and spectacular steak platters. Book ahead to be sure of a table on 01261 861209.

A pretty curved staircase leads up to a delightful, relaxing bedroom with very comfy king size bed and a walk through wardrobe into a fresh, modern ensuite shower room.
On the ground floor is a charming single bedroom with a full size daybed and handy downstairs toilet ensuite. 

Both bedrooms have a hairdryer and you'll find an iron and mini ironing board in the upstairs cupboard. Wifi and charging points are available throughout. 

There is a well stocked supermarket and cafe with off license (open 7 days till late) just past the Rockfish chip shop. 
Whitehills also boasts two hairdressers and an interesting wee curiosity shop.

Head down to the yacht marina where the Harbour Galley offers a delicious menu ( BYOB 01224  083593) and from there a level coastal path takes you all the way to Banff links. A great walk for the dogs .

A short drive takes you to Portsoy's famous ice cream shop and you'll also find Aspire restaurant, Port House Cafe and Symposium all providing lovely coffees, cakes and more.
Visit the historic 17th century harbour (where Peaky Blinders series 5 was filmed) for stunning views of this great coast and pop in to the characterful old pub The Shore Inn for a refreshment. 

On street parking is usually available right at the gate.

This is just a charming little cottage! My husband and loved staying here with our two little dogs. It feels like it retains some of its original features but is also so comfortable with a fabulous shower and great little dressing room type area adjoining the upstairs bathroom and bedroom. The garden is sunny and it's right across from The Seafield Arms who are really doggy friendly and do amazing food. The pottery two doors down is nice to have a wander around to pick up bits and bobs. Would definitely stay here again.

A lovely little home from home. Clean, well equipped and right opposite the Seafield Arms, where excellent food can be had. A beautiful area - well worth a visit. We would definitely recommend a stay in Alison's Peppermill Cottage.

Clean and comfortable. Nice and fresh inside. Local shop a few minutes walk away. Seafield Hotel which is dog friendly directly across from the cottage. I would honestly recommend.

Arrival and check in/out

To get to Peppermill use AB45 2NB and you will find the cottage at 7 Chapel Street opposite the hotel. You can usually park right at the gate but it's a narrow old street so tuck well in. 

You will find a keybox on the shed door and your code is in the final payment recieved email. If you are unsure of the code just call me on 07484 693148.

Tip - leave the key in the box when you are out, no chance of losing it ! 

Make yourself at home. There's tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper available and you can pick up fresh milk at the Premier supermarket in Loch St. It's open late, 7 days and has a cafe as well as a good off licence section.

Towels and bed linen are all provided, and all the beds made. If you are using the day bed please just slip off the fitted cover and store in the blanket box. 

On departure please leave the used towels in the shower and don't trouble to strip beds. Do leave the cottage as you found it and let us  know of any breakages or accidents so I can sort those out  quickly. 

We highly recommend the Seafield Arms but suggest you book as its very popular - 01261 861209.

Rockfish in Loch St has great fish and chips from Thursday to Sunday - 01261 861531

The Harbour Galley is closed for refurbishment until mid July so check first  - 01261 861116
